When a puppy leaves its mother, littermates, and the only home it has ever known, the change can feel big and uncertain, and adjusting takes time. In those first days and weeks, your puppy may cry in the crate at night, have a few accidents, nip at ankles, jump, or even hump. Your puppy might also pester another pet or shake up the family routine for a little while.
